Grew up on a farm. Apprenticeship as a carpenter. Vocational training in timber construction at Biel University of Applied Sciences. Project manager in timber construction. Postgraduate studies in business management. Management position in a timber construction company and later in a sealing company. Further training as a fire protection specialist with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education/Association of Cantonal Fire Insurance Companies. Work in fire protection planning and, since 2021, fire protection with Gartenmann Engineering in Bern. Head of operations and commander of a fire brigade.
